I spent my first year at CBM in the classroom supervising students, online as well as in person, monitoring work completion, and communicating progress with parents and teachers. From there, I taught 8th grade Science and Social Studies alongside a cooperating teacher. When a full-time teacher was hired, I returned to the intervention team using the Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention program. I did this for two years, and was then tasked with creating and implementing a system to schedule 504/IEP meetings for the Special Services department at CBM. I worked closely with the LEAs, case managers, teachers, and school psychologists to ensure consistency and fidelity with 100% compliance. This past semester, I was put in charge of the Content Recovery/Work Completion Lab, helping students earn missing credits and providing a space for students with classroom accommodations. For the last two years, I have also worked one-on-one with students using the Wilson Reading System.
As an RBT, I provided one-on-one therapies to children on the autism spectrum, applying the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
As a classroom assistant, I was in charge of overseeing classroom organization and management. Some of my duties included implementing and introducing new math, science, and social studies standards. While my cooperating teacher was in maternity leave, I was responsible for all aspects of classroom management, including assessments and report card grading.
