Accomplishments

Became one of three owners of Trans-Radial Solutions LLC in 2012. We developed two, now patented, medical devices. Our most popular one is the Cardio-TRAP. Cardio-TRAP stands for Cardiovascular Trans Radial Access Platform. The Cardio-TRAP is a patient positioning device used in heart catheterization procedures. It was designed to support right radial access procedures, left-radial right room access procedures, and it has a radiation shield that reduces the scatter radiation dose to the cardiologist by more than 50%. We have sold them all over the United States.

Our other device is the Rad-Guard. The Rad-Guard is a radiation shield that attaches to any IV pole. It is designed to protect the nursing staff during fluoroscopy.

My contributions to the Trans-Radial Solutions effort were funding, creating solutions for problems and streamlining a process for manufacturing the products. I developed relationships with many local businesses to help make much of this happen.

In 2015, I created PlastiCraftsmen LLC. PlastiCraftsmen was created after people discovered that I could weld plastic. The people I developed relationships with through Trans-Radial Solutions LLC were sending people to me that needed plastic welding done. I had invested in all of the equipment to weld and fabricate plastic, so I created PlastiCraftsmen LLC to put that volume of work under. PlastiCraftsmen owns the patent for a table side radiation shield for the Sonialvision G4 X-ray table and has done work for many local machine shops and other larger companies such as Shimadzu Medical Systems USA, Disney, GE and Kemet.

Interests

My hobbies include buying old pieces of heavy equipment, as repair projects, and getting them working to use on the old farm and do any side jobs with them as I can I've got at least twenty pieces of equipment that are mostly Caterpillar dozers from the 1950s

The damage from hurricane Helene gave me a good excuse to buy a Wood-Mizer sawmill, so I've been using my old equipment to harvest the logs from fallen trees and start turning them into lumber

I continue to work with plastics and I occasionally get contacted to go into hospitals to look at making new products to use in various procedures I enjoy solving problems and making things better The healthcare industry is full of problems that need to be solved!
