Danica Christina Reid

I fist started playing soccer when I was 9 years old for Discoveries Soccer Club. I was apart of the first girls team the program ever had. My coach was Ceasar Robles and he shaped me into a great center back. I played premier with this team and played with them until I was 16 years old. I also attended Furman Soccer camp every summer. I played for South Pointe High School in Rock Hill where I received Defensive player of the year in 2016. I also received two All Region Awards in 2014-2015 as a freshman and 2015-2016 as a sophomore. My junior year I was no longer able to play due to a series of serious concussions I received over the years. I was heartbroken when I was no longer able to play. I had plans to play at the college level. Soccer has always been a big part of my life. I am very passionate about this beautiful game. I hope that I can inspire young girls to fall in love with the game like I did. The pitch was my safe space. It felt like where I belonged and I want to help create that experience for upcoming players.
