Fire Department received a Unit Citation Award for a very serious motor vehicle accident which 5 patients were in the vehicle and an 8 month old the mother and grandmother all were ejected from the vehicle and received life threatening injuries, the child was giving CPR prior to our arrival.
The father and grandfather were also seriously injured.
The mother had multi trauma injuries and was flown roughly 50 feet from the vehicle, grandmother was just out side of the vehicle, infant was not init locate, but eventually found prior to our arrival, dad and grandfather were out of the vehicle walking around.
We had a total of 4 ambulances and an air helicopter on scene to transport all parties involved.
The highway was closed for several hours so the New Hampshire State Police reconstruction team could recon and investigate the crash.
All of the patients after several months of being in the hospital were discharged with no long term effects.
This was a very difficult scene with multiple agencies on scene and everyone worked flawlessly with each other and kept our em in check e thought we all thought the three ejected patients would not survive there injuries.
