I'm an undergraduate student at the College of Charleston studying exercise science, I am deeply passionate about intersection of human physiology, health, and performance. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong foundation in nutrition, cardiovascular health, and psychology. Next steps are graduate school to further my knowledge. I was the only College of Charleston student to help lead the Rock Steady Boxing program for parkinson patients, which was awarded best exercise program in 2024 by Health Links magazine.
At the MUSC Wellness Center, I have had the privilege of working closely with Parkinson's disease patients through the Rock Steady Boxing program, my approach is creating a supportive and motivating environment where individuals with Parkinson's can feel empowered and encouraged. I have developed specialized knowledge in designing exercise routines that target specific symptoms such as tremors, rigidity, and balance issues. These programs incorporate boxing drills and other exercises known to enhance agility, strength, and coordination, all of which are critical in combating the motor symptoms of Parkinson's.
As a personal training assistant specializing in working with older populations, cancer recovery patients, and Parkinson's disease patients, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals on their journey to improved health and wellness. My role has been multifaceted, focusing on personalized care, specialized exercise programming, and compassionate support tailored to each client's unique needs and challenges. Working with older adults, I have developed a deep understanding of age-related considerations in fitness and wellness. This includes creating exercise plans that prioritize mobility, flexibility, and strength training to help maintain independence and improve overall quality of life.
