  • The Landrum Fire Department was reorganized and reestablished as a Special Purpose District being governed by an elected Board of Commissioner’s that represents all taxpayers within the District. Previously the Landrum Fire Department was governed by the City of Landrum with an FSA contract with Spartanburg and Greenville Counties. The District Board is made up of 5 members (2 representatives from the Landrum Municipal Area, 2 representatives from Spartanburg County, and 1 representative from Grenville County portion of the Fire District).

Accomplishments

  • Developed and established a retention program to recognize/compensate volunteer firefighters for participation in training and business meetings (yearly stipend from the City of Landrum)
  • Skilled in grant writing which resulted in over $485K dollars in grant money awarded over a 6-year period from the AFG Grants
  • Led the initiative for implementation of an EAP program for all City employees including (Volunteer Firefighters) and their families.
  • Initiated the foundation discussions for the establishment of an SPD with the City of Landrum, Spartanburg and Greenville Counties, State of South Carolina and Fire Department Personnel.
  • Responsible for ensuring all fire apparatus met the NFPA 1901 standards (under my leadership as Chief)
  • In 2017 the DPH Rapid Responder program for the Landrum Area Fire and Rescue District was established along with equipping 3 vehicles to meet the DPH level as a BLS rapid responder agency
  • Established the EMT CEP program to recertify our personnel in-house
  • Over the last 3 years I have completed the application process for the Duke Energy helping Hero’s Foundation Grants, successfully securing approximately $40,000.00 in grant funds to purchase portable Dual Band radios (800 MHZ/VHF) and a commercial grade Drone (Go Command Public Safety Drone Unit)
