I am looking for a part time / full time position with REI in Mt Pleasant, SC. I am: professional, positive, mature, reliable and knowledgeable and have lots of experience with bikes and skis. I am an outdoors oriented person and a "gear head". I consider my self a problem solver and I know tools. The opportunity to work with REI and become technically skilled at assembling and maintaining bikes and skis, sounds great. Then the chance to use my personal experience with the technical skills to aid others in safely and confidently enjoying the outdoors. My father was born and raised on Sullivan's Island. I have grown up here, my folks moved to IOP in 1983. I love this place! I am here to stay and I would like to be part of the REI team. Thank you

- Retail sales and technical staff at Halfmoon Outifitters when originally open on North Market street downtown 1993 Took the owner and his girlfriend climbing multipitch at Stone Mountain, NC Was hired on the spot! Worked at Halfmoon on and off while in college years
- Went to ski school in the Zukspitz, Austria when I was 12 and have downhill skied since
- I opened the climbing wall at James Island County Park Oversaw all aspects of safety, trainings and high angle rescue techniques Was responsible for climbing programs creation and implementation This lead to me taking groups of teenagers to the mountains climbing and camping at either Linville Gorge or Stone Mountain, GA for the CCPRC outdoor program
- I compete in triathlon events, completed a half Ironman in Wilmington last fall I swim, ride and run weekly I have always been very active
- Tried to climb Mt Rainier in May 2024 but climb team was shut down due to blizzard at 10,500 feet
- Successfully soloed Mt Hood in May of 2024 (Have tried three times but got weathered out Each of those times I rented gear from REI)
- I have and ride bikes, I raced BMX as a kid Currently I have: Rocky Mountain road bike, a Canyon tri bike, a Giant mountain bike, a Gary Fisher mountain bike, a Lauf gravel bike and a beach cruiser My wife says I have a problem but I ride them I have always been comfortable turning a wrench but have never been formally trained
- I am very detail oriented, I love to stay busy and I love to teach people things that will help them
- I am a military brat (father was in the Army), therefore moved every couple of years I learned how to meet people and how to communicate thanks to this I has always been told I am approachable
