Founded startup, developed prototype products, and executed the initial three-year plan to create DaVinci Roofscapes, LLC, as the preeminent synthetic roofing manufacturer in the United States.
With support from a local advertising agency, we promoted our products to three target customer segments through Google (retail customers), Roofing Contractors (installers), and Roofing Distributors (wholesalers).
When demand for our products required investment in additional machines and warehouse space, I arranged a relationship with a Venture Capital partner in 2007.
The company grew to over $50 million in sales by 2019, when it was sold to a much larger Canadian manufacturer. Purchaser still manufactures its products at our plant in Lenexa, Kansas, and has retained the original name and branding strategies. It continues to grow in both the United States and Canada.

Served as Operations Analyst from 1982 to 1991, employing statistical quality control and improvement across departments to improve quality and productivity. Successfully trained both managers and the local work force; but learned many profound lessons in the challenge to change the established culture of a company.
Led a team of internal specialists and an outside consultant in developing more accurate overhead cost allocation between residential and commercial product lines. This clarification prompted realignments of business strategy and higher profitability.
Promoted to Executive VP of Sales and Marketing in 1991. Focused attention on the highest-value customers. Ultimately, prioritizing customers in this way helped achieve average annual sales growth exceeding 10% per year through strategic customer prioritization.
