As a 4 K teacher our responsibilities were to prepare our students for Kindergarten. Those responsibilities included letter recognition, number recognition, following and creating lesson plans that correlate with our age group’s curriculum. We shared a responsibility with our parents ensuring that our students were cared for and able to make the transition socially and academically and mentally as they embraced the journey from preschool to kindergarten .I was recognized a top five pre-k teacher in the state of South Carolina by Quality Counts in 2022 and again in 2023. Our school chose not to participate after 2023. Our standards however, remained the same.
