Volunteering at an animal shelter comes with a positive and negative feeling. The positive feeling is loving these animals because they deserve just as much love as our animals at home. Then, the negative feeling is not being able to bring them home. Taking them on walks, throwing the ball, giving them belly rubs, and just giving them love is all it takes to make a shelter animal's day!
During my junior year of high school, I attended a class called Teacher Cadet. Within this program, I had the opportunity to go to Pritchardville Elementary and assist a first-grade teacher. I was able to help out and guide classroom activities and lessons, as well as do daily tasks for the teacher. This experience gave me an inside look at what it takes to be an educator.
