Keerstin Colson Lax

Summerville,SC

Summary

Hello!

My have spent most of My Name is Keerstin Colson. I am a 14 year or so veteran in the automotive repair industry. I have spent most of my career Focused on Passenger vehicles specializing in Diagnostic and Repair.

I began as a lube tech for one very well known, Mavis. I learned basics and was thirsty for more knowledge fast. I decided to transition into dealership life when I felt quite board of lube only and felt ready for more. Fron there I went on and became a line technician for the local Stokes Automotive Group Dealerships. to keep my portfolio of knowledge high I made a request of Eddie Stokes himself to allow me to go to all of the manufacturers Schooling which he had hands in. Gaining knowledge and certification in the following manufacturers: Honda, Mazda, Volkswagen, and most recently and longest held tenure, Stokes Kia. I spent the last three years with Stokes Automotive Group as the Lead Used Car Technician.

After having spent 12 years focused in what seems to be a most enjoyable (thus far) part of the industry? I decided to go back to an aftermarket shop, where the story of my auto repair career began as a "Newbie-Lubie" to try and learn how to run the show! Boy, was I ever blessed with who became my guides in it all! I wanted to learn to manage, seeing how it has been my life's dream to own my very own Restoration and Repair location.

So, the past few years I stepped out of the shop, turning wrenches, trying my hand at management. Fortunately for me taken under the wings of some of the most open minded understanding, corporate bosses I've ever had the pleasure of working under in this industry, through NTB while still under TBC CORPS. control. Up until the buyout I would have probably worked in the worst conditions for my higher management. I learned valuable skills in what I myself? As a manager needed to learn the most. Time management skills, I also needed desperately to learn problem solving skills. I learned that if I put my staff/technicians and team firs, never over working them and taking on only what we could handle? The rest would follow. I started off as a lead tech with the company and within a year became service manager willing to work management duties not assigned to my title. Until a position became available. I eventually became SGM. Grew more and began to gain those Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills, most importantly? Time management and prioritization skills. I went on to become SGM of NTB in MT. Pleasant.

I was still able to take what should've been condemnable location and in just 48 hours? Turn it into the newly referred to as:

"My 48hr RAGS to WRENCHIN flip." It turns out I have quite a Nack for managing and taking sort of a mess and turning it into success fairly quickly so long as i have the full support of My bosses behind me? I will be able to enter a location and use all of the skills I have gained while in management. So together including a 2 year sabbatical ?

So to sum up my career? I have spent my entire life in or around a repair shop. I have done it all, from simple oil changes to engines (short blocks and long), transmission swaps, suspension work, your basic preventative maintenance. Now Managing a team in those repair locations.

I am looking for another company in need of a SGM positiion to be filled, with the same tech driven family-based values, customer service driven in honesty and not unnecessary sales that I am looking for. I prefer to only focus on honest needs and not just numbers. I want to help customers and run a team focused on bettering their lives and those of others ie. customers.

As you will see at the bottom of my resume?

There is a video of the before and after flip I did for TBCs NTB Mount Pleasant Location. That reset was only a 48 hr flip!
