As Accounting Supervisor for Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits of South Carolina and Florida, my responsibilities and duties are to oversee the collection of past-due invoices from suppliers, ensuring timely payments, and managing a team of Supplier Billing Clerks and Accounts Payable. Two employees are in Columbia, Columbia, South Carolina, and two employees are in Miramar, Florida. This role involves supervising, training, and providing guidance to the collection team, as well as implementing strategies to recover outstanding balances. As a supervisor, my role includes process improvement, researching discrepancies, and preparing reports for management, including processes in SAP and the Supplier Billing portal, and conducting regular meetings to address monthly status reports regarding billings. Performing financial oversight in recommending write-offs for uncollectible invoices to the division controller and implementing a strategy to recover outstanding balances. Compile month-end billing backups to send to our corporate Shared Services team for final processing, as well as processing month-end interfaces for all automated billbacks. Oversee the processing of supplier samples and financial depletions. Prepare journal entries monthly, and as directed. My direct manager, to whom I report, is the Assistant Controller for the company.

As Accounts Receivable Supervisor, I held the following responsibilities and duties: Supervise, coordinate, assign, train and review the work of six team members of the accounts receivable department, reconcile bank statements, oversee cash receipts/deposits, examine and verify accuracy of work and authorize routine refunds, credits, adjustments and transfers relating to the customer accounts. The coordinator position allowed me to process individual customer’s checks through the BancTec reader sorter, debiting customers accounts, as well as having the opportunity to train new employees in 10 key numeric entry/data entry while being responsible for meeting mandatory transaction balancing in a specified time daily. This leadership role also enabled me to receive a Certificate in Supervisory Training from Midlands Technical College. As an Encoding and Error Corrections Specialist with Carolina First Bank, I performed error corrections to customer and teller accounts, encoded and balanced daily transactions received by the different branches, and trained new employees in error corrections and check processing. This part-time position, because of my performance, allowed me to assist with the setup of the Citrus Bank Operations in Jacksonville, Florida. Carolina First awarded many opportunities throughout the years I was employed.
