I volunteer as a juvenile/youth arbitration program arbitrator during my school breaks. I review police reports and meet with juveniles and their guardians who have been charged with non-violent crimes. We discuss their charge(s) and conference about their decisions. I then assign them sanctions to complete over the duration of 3 months in order to reflect on and “make up” for, in a sense, their actions. I have completed additional training by attending juvenile court, teen intervention classes, and family court.
I handled all membership questions, requests, and issues. I also answered any and every question regarding the YMCA and took payments that came into the building. I answered the phone, spoke face to face with members, gave and received cash, checks, and card information, registered children for programs, and kept track of who entered the building.
I was in charge of my entire site. I spoke directly to parents regarding their children, regulated rules and procedures, and provided a pleasant environment for my children to learn and grow socially.
I helped students with their homework, provide and create activities for them to complete (crafts,
seasonal activities, etc), and counsel them in any emotional areas. I worked with students of all ages
academically and emotionally.
Assist preschoolers ages 2-5 in basic gymnastics activities. Duties also include taking them to the restroom, keeping them entertained throughout the class, speaking to parents, and providing a safe,
fun environment.
