At KPMG Mauritius, I embarked on a dynamic journey that blended rigorous audit work with global collaboration and technological insight. My role spanned external audits and special projects, where I engaged with clients across industries—banking, aviation, and international trade—to assess financial integrity and operational resilience.

I specialized in evaluating General IT Controls (GITC) and IT Automated Controls (ITAC), working with leading enterprise systems such as Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics 365. These experiences deepened my understanding of how technology underpins modern business and sharpened my analytical thinking.

My career took an international turn through secondments in France and Luxembourg, where I contributed to audits in the automobile, banking, and energy sectors. Collaborating with teams and clients from Seychelles, France, Luxembourg, and India, I developed a global mindset and an appreciation for diverse business cultures.

This role has not only strengthened my technical expertise but also ignited a passion for continuous learning, cross-border collaboration, and the transformative power of technology in finance. It’s this drive that now leads me to pursue further academic growth.

At BDO IT Consulting, I worked with the data analytics team on a reconciliation project for a Mauritian bank. The work was fast-paced and detail-intensive, requiring a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity. Through this experience, I gained valuable exposure to the financial sector, particularly in areas related to loan structures, account reconciliation, and data validation. It was a steep learning curve, but it sharpened my analytical thinking and gave me a deeper understanding of how financial data is managed and interpreted in real-world banking environments.

During my second internship at Mautourco, I worked closely with the coding team on an in-house developed application, gaining insight into the development process—from designing the user interface (UI) to understanding how internal systems are tailored to business needs. I also contributed to data visualization tasks using Tableau, a leading analytics tool, which allowed me to explore how data can be transformed into meaningful insights for operational decision-making. This experience deepened my interest in both front-end development and data storytelling, while reinforcing the importance of aligning technology with user experience.

At Mautourco, a leading destination management company and tour operator in Mauritius, I interned with the IT team, assisting in their daily operations. I gained hands-on experience working with servers, databases, and various IT equipment, which gave me a practical understanding of infrastructure and system reliability. More importantly, I developed an appreciation for how technology supports the smooth functioning of a service-oriented business, and how IT plays a vital role in delivering seamless travel experiences.

At AXYS in Mauritius, a firm specializing in capital management, wealth investment, and fund administration, I interned with a small team of developers, assisting two coders in their daily tasks. While I was introduced to SQL and gained basic technical exposure, the most valuable lessons were in soft skills—learning how to cooperate effectively within a team, communicate clearly, and adapt to different working styles. I also observed the impact of strong management and leadership, which fostered a productive and supportive environment. This experience deepened my appreciation for the human side of technology and teamwork.

During my internship at Rogers Capital, I was involved in rolling out a new lease application to clients. I visited client sites to demonstrate the system, answer questions, and gather feedback, which helped me develop strong client-facing skills. I also participated in testing the application, gaining insight into software functionality and user experience.
