My educational background in Religious Studies and Psychology, combined with working at a religious school has endowed me with various useful traits that are necessary as a ESL teacher. Learning a new language, as I have experienced with Hebrew and German, is challenging. As teachers, having empathy and patience for all ages and levels is crucial. It is important to uplift and encourage students, so they can gain the confidence that is needed to thrive.
I believe with my personality, I can create an environment where students can become their best selves. I am known to be very bubbly, positive, thoughtful, and creative. I see the best in any situation, even if there is conflict. I have studied abroad three times over the course of my academic journey. These experiences have taught me how to be adaptable and have cultural sensitivity. I think it is highly important to learn the culture and to incorporate aspects of the culture into lesson plans, while also sharing my own. This allows student to express themselves and have familiarity in a subject that seems foreign. I have the mentality and the knowledge that is needed to create a fun learning environment.
