With a proven track record at Rogers Group Inc, I spearheaded the creation of a Traffic Control division, exemplifying leadership and traffic management expertise. My initiative in training over 200 personnel showcases my commitment to work zone safety and team collaboration. Recognized for my organizational skills, I effectively coordinated multimillion-dollar projects, significantly enhancing operational efficiency.
Created a Traffic Control division here in the Carolina's for Rogers Group from scratch. I hired, trained and mentored my own crews into knowledgeable, highly efficient Traffic Control teams capable of handling primary and secondary closures. As a certified Flagger instructor, not only have I taught and certified my Traffic Control personnel, I have also taught and certified over 200 paving, milling, CMRB and dirt crew personnel as well for Rogers Group. This has allowed me to get everyone across the board in road construction on the same page by teaching how Traffic Control operations are to be done by DOT specifications.
Overseen daily Traffic Control operations in the Upstate of South Carolina. Coordinated with Project Managers of various construction companies and SCDOT to ensure primary and secondary lane closures meet DOT standard drawings. Marketed Stay Alert to new and existing customers for the opportunity to take care of their Traffic Control needs on future projects.
When I took over the position of Traffic Control Supervisor, I reshaped the entire operation creating a solid ground of standards and operating procedures based on North and South Carolina DOT standard specifications. I created four, five man crews for safer, more efficient traffic control operations. I ordered radios with a private frequency just for Sloan Construction to ensure safer and well communicated flagging operations. I also instructed Traffic Control Supervisor and Flagger Classes and certified all new and current employees.
Followed Tie & Surface gangs with Norfolk Southern GA, SC and NC closing railroad crossings, detouring traffic per FRA and DOT specifications. Gained business outside of the railroad contract by marketing the asphalt operations to new and existing customers.
Managed a team of 14 junior Logisticians in direct support of Brigade level operations with a personnel count of over 4000 soldiers. Lead in the establishment of a new helicopter site on Forward Operating Base Sharana in Afghanistan of $8 million in Air Assets and $2 million in equipment and inventory. Was a Liaison to 3 foreign and 7 American airframes available to FOB Sharana, Afghanistan's Helicopter Landing Zone. Was recommended for a Bronze Star while in Afghanistan after I created and instituted a system to track cargo, saving millions of dollars from lost and miss-shipments of Department of Defense equipment.
