Assisted the Development Director of the Greenville chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (now Breakthrough T1D) with any tasks she needed in preparation for events (such as writing thank you notes to sponsors & researching potential venues for future events).
Observed meetings with event sponsors & got to see first-hand what the process of putting a non-profit fundraising event together.
While interning in position, I was accepted into the Young Adult Advocacy Council for JDRF, & am still serving in my two year term. This council is a very carefully selected group of about 50 young adults (18-26 years old) from all over the United States who are passionate about spreading awareness & advocating for type 1 diabetics. I am in the inaugural class for this council, & I am the only representative from South Carolina.

As a member of the City of Greenville Event Staff, I was responsible for assistance in preparation & setting up for events such as Downtown Alive, Main Street Fridays, & the Saturday farmers market.
My personal duties included set up & take down of events, checking in vendors & event participants, & answering questions & directing vendors & event participants when necessary.
Improved team coordination with clear communication before and during events.
Facilitated guest inquiries and concerns, often leading to immediate resolution and enhanced guest experience.
Utilized communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with both customers & coworkers to promote smooth & efficient operations.
Inspected customer IDs, checking for appropriate age requirements.
