Summary

It is with great enthusiasm that I forward my resume and letter of interest for the available Substitute Teacher position in Horry County. While I have not worked directly in teaching I have experience in working with children of all ages through volunteer work. I have been in and around the classroom my entire life as the daughter of a teacher. I have observed best practices for educating students of diverse needs, as well as practices for classroom management. I believe I offer a unique background with my experience as a police officer. I have developed a high capacity for patience and understanding as well as the ability to problem solve. My training included the integration of social and emotional strategies to de-escalate situations. In addition, I have had diversity and cultural sensitivity training. My educational background as well as work experience have enabled me to be proficient in Spanish. I am looking to pursue my teaching certification and would welcome the opportunity to discuss my qualifications with you further.
