Accomplishments

  • Was recognized in Interim Hospice newsletter as Hospice's "WHY" member. This is a nominated award from fellow coworkers as well as management and physicians for nurses who have gone above and beyond for their patients on a daily basis.
  • Introduced a "Palliative Care Butterfly" idea to the Intensive Care Unit in 2017. The idea was brought to the council and then to the board of the hospital and was approved hospital wide. The butterfly is placed on a patients room once becoming palliative care to alert the staff of the status change. This was a way to give the patient and the family members time together without interruption.
  • Organized and hosted Tri-County Technical College's first ever "RN Day" where Registered Nurses from all over the upstate were brought into the school and had a panel discussion with the student nurses about their jobs and what certifications and experiences were needed for those positions. 75 students came to the event and was deemed the best event of the year.
  • Aided in the planning and scheduling of Tri-County Technical College Student Nurses Association's first ever attendance to the State Student Nurses Association Conference in Columbia, SC in 2019.
