A point of contact for acquisitions questions and needs
Place orders for items selected to be added to the collection through Polaris and vendor sites
Uses vendors: Baker & Taylor, Ingram, Midwest Tape, Amazon as main source for ordering materials
Downloads and edits catalog records as needed
Prepares and applies invoices through Polaris
Sends invoice to Accounts Payable department for payment
Checks budget reports to see that payments made in Polaris are balanced
Contacts vendors with questions and concerns when problems arise.
Part of Suggest-A-Title group. This group directs suggested items directly from patrons, and sends suggestions to selectors. Adds approved items to carts to be downloaded and ordered.
Recently took responsibility to select graphic novels and manga to be added to the collection.
Takes part in various projects within Collection Development department as assigned.
Assumes responsibilities for acquisitions manager while they are out.
Process and sort incoming boxes of books and AV items to be sent to various locations within the library.
Full responsibility for the processing, displaying, and storing of newspapers. Checks in and displays magazines while serials librarian is out.
Assists serials manager with selection of magazines from local newsstands to support magazine needs at all library branches.
Supports the indexing of local magazines through the Local History and Obituary Index of the library.
Assists with the preparation of sending serials to a bindery for the Local History department.
Reports issues regarding interruption of periodical service to the serials librarian and contacts vendors on manager’s behalf to resolve problems.

Receive and process print journals daily and check them in through the Millenium program
Maintains the serial bibliographic records and check-in records
Claim missing issues as needed
Stack maintenance for print journal collection
Fulfill article/book requests for library customers and patrons
Utilize ILLiad, Docline, PASCAL Delivers, and other systems to fill requests for patrons and other institutions
Serve as the backup for interlibrary loan services
Frontline service to library patrons including circulation of library materials and responding to basic reference questions
Staff the circulation desk as scheduled
Troubleshoot and manage library equipment in public areas
Assist with recycling and the ongoing maintenance of the library’s print collections including shelving, shelf reading, shifting, and weeding
Procure new serial titles including print, online journals, and consortial purchasing
Maintains and update-journal information in EBSCO’s Full Text Finder and other electronic journal linking modules and web interfaces including PubMed and LinkOut to reflect changes
Maintain all serial subscriptions accounting information
Communicate with publishers/vendors as needed
Collect monthly usage statistics for print and e-journals
Responsible for processing, sorting, and distributing of incoming and outgoing mail for the library.

Library management programs: PubMed, EBSCOhost, Docline, ILLiad and Odyssey, LinkOut, Ebsconet, EbscoAdmin, Worldcat, Counter 4 & 5 for statistics
