Summary

To obtain a commission in the United States Coast Guard and complete an interservice transfer from the Army. I wish to take the experience I have gained from 12 years of military service from various background, and apply it while serving as a Coast Guard officer. I wish to transfer out of the Army so I can continue to serve my Nation and home community of the Great Lakes in a new capacity.

  • Provides expert nutritional care to 56,000 eligible beneficiaries and 48,000 students within the Moncrief Army Health Clinic (MAHC) population. Responsible for over 1,000 patient encounters per year.
  • Conducts comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients with acute and chronic conditions. Develop individualized medical nutrition therapy plans based on the most current evidenced-based guidelines.
  • Develops, implements, and participates in community nutrition activities on-post to serve the nutrition needs of Fort Jackson's Soldiers, dependent, and retiree population.
  • Responsible for coordination and planning community-based projects with the Fort Jackson Commissary to increase the Nutrition Care Department (NCD) footprint on Fort Jackson.

  • Collected, analyzed, and disseminated intelligence from multiple sources to support strategic and tactical military operations.
  • Conducted briefings and debriefings for commanders and key personnel on enemy tactics, capabilities, and courses of action.
  • Maintained Top-Secret security clearance and ensured strict compliance with information security protocols.

Accomplishments

  • Assessment of Recruit Motivation and Strength Program (ARMS), ARMS is an Army program that helps recruits meet TRADOC ht/wt standards prior to starting BCT. ARMS is half of the Future Soldier Preparatory Course (FSPC). The FSPC has been responsible for over 20,000 Soldier graduates since its inception in August 2022. Helped develop nutrition education materials and curriculum, nutrition monitoring and evaluation, train the trainer, and 1-on-1 counseling. Oversaw nutrition needs of 2 companies of roughly 400 trainees at a time. Coordinated with the company commander and cadre the nutritional needs and medical concerns of trainees in accordance with regulations.
  • Future Sentinel Preparatory Course (FSPC), Assisted U.S. Coast Guard in successfully running the first iteration of their FSPC beta. FSPC is a course for U.S Coast Guard recruits that exceed ht/wt standards prior to beginning bootcamp. Helped develop nutrition education materials and curriculum, nutrition monitoring and evaluation, and 1-on-1 counseling with recruits. Awarded Coast Guard Achievement medal for providing support.
  • Troop Medical Clinic (TMC) Nutrition Care, Established nutrition presence in TMC to allow immediate nutrition care for BCT and AIT trainees. Helped develop screening protocol and tools to identify high-risk trainees being seen by physical therapy and occupational therapy. Provided nutrition therapy to address training-specific needs such as bone stress injury/wound healing, malnutrition, and improving body composition. Conducted data collection on the nutrition environment of trainees in BCT for meals eaten in the DFAC, MRES, Hot-A meals, and supplements. Currently trying to use data collected to influence nutrition guidelines for TRADOC.
