Accomplishments

  • Assessment of Recruit Motivation and Strength Program (ARMS) - ARMS is an initial entry training program that helps recruits meet TRADOC ht/wt standards prior to starting Basic Combat Training. Developed nutrition education materials and curriculum, nutrition monitoring and evaluation, train the trainer, and 1-on-1 counseling. Acted as the supporting dietitian for Charlie 2-39 providing nutrition care to over 2,000 recruits with a program success rate of over 95%.
  • Future Sentinel Preparatory Course (FSPC) - Assisted U.S. Coast Guard in successfully running the first iteration of their FSPC beta. Helped develop nutrition education materials and curriculum, nutrition monitoring and evaluation materials, and provided 1-on-1 counseling with recruits. Provided continual guidance to replacement dietitian after completion of TDY.
  • Troop Medical Clinic (TMC) - Established nutrition presence to allow immediate nutrition care for BCT/AIT trainees. Helped develop screening protocol and tools to identify high-risk trainees being seen by physical therapy and occupational therapy. Provided nutrition therapy to address training-specific needs such as bone stress injury/wound healing, malnutrition, and improving body composition. Conducted data collection on the nutrition environment of trainees in BCT to influence nutrition guidelines for TRADOC.
